The Montpelier Park Board is here to serve the needs of the park and its patrons. They meet the first Wednesday of each month at the Recreation Office (932 South Pleasant Street) at 7:00 p.m.
Park Board members serve a 5-year term and one member is appointed each year. Two members are appointed by the Montpelier Exempted Village School Board and three members are appointed by the Mayor with approval by the Montpelier Village Council.
The Park Board is responsible for the supervision and management of all Village parks, the swimming pool, and any other facility or area designated by Council. As well as the supervision of employees, establishment of rules and regulations that govern the operation of the recreation facilities, development of budgets, and planning & development of future recreation facilities.
The Montpelier Park Board was created in 1958 and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2008. The Municipal Park and Pool were also 50 years old in 2008. Thank you for celebrating with us.
